October 19, 2017 - Jeffrey Schab (“Schab”) checks into room 205 @ Embassy Suites in Tulsa, OK with his husband, Wade Giles (“Giles”); they are scheduled to stay for 10 nights with departure on October 29, 2017. October 20, 2017 - Schab first notices three (3) raised bumps/bites on the front side of his right shoulder (images available) October 22, 2017 - Schab notices three (3) new/additional bites on his left hand (images available) October 23, 2017 - Schab notices one (1) new/additional bite on his right lat (Latissimus Dorsi) (image available) and begins to worry about possible bed bugs at the Embassy Suites, but cannot personally find evidence in the room so he dismisses it. October 23, 2017 - Schab notices one (1) new/additional bite on his right forearm (image available) and again looks for bed bugs in the room, but cannot personally find evidence so he dismisses it again. October 25, 2017 - Schab notices three (3) new/additional bites on his right hand and is now convinced there are bed bugs so he stays up for hours looking for evidence, but was unsuccessful. October 27, 2017 - Schab cannot sleep due to multiple areas of itch and wakes up about 3:00 am to notice three (3) new/additional bites on the back side of his right shoulder (images available). - Schab surveys the room and finds 2 bed bugs in his pillow case; Schab takes pictures and videos of both bugs crawling inside his pillow case (images and videos available); Schab captures both bugs and places inside a plastic Q-Tip box as evidence. - Schab goes to the front desk about 4:00 am and speak with the on-duty night manager (Kenneth Morgan), and shows him evidence of the bugs in the aforementioned Q-Tip box. Kenneth retains the box and advises Schab to return after 7:00 am to speak with general manager on duty (Jacob Shrum). - Schab emails Jacob and carbon copies Kenneth explaining there are bed bugs in room 205 and attaches pictures and videos as evidence; email reads "Good Morning Jacob: Please be advised that I just had a discussion with Ken ("K") at the front desk (cc'd here) where I informed him there are bed bugs in room 205 at your hotel. Pictures of these bugs along with a few images of my bites over the past week are attached; 2 videos of these bugs alive will be in a subsequent email due to file size. I also left a small container with Ken that contains a mature bed bug (red in color) and a second immature bed bug (translucent in appearance).I have been staying here for the past 8 days and was scheduled to check-out on Sunday. However, I can no longer tolerate the persistent nights of new bites and wish to check out immediately and request a full refund of my stay plus reimbursement to have my clothes dry cleaned, etc. I understand you will be here at 7:00 am so I will come down and personally discuss this matter with you and learn next steps for the aforementioned refund and reimbursement. Please be advised my room was booked through hotels.com and my Hilton # is 847290015. Feel free to call me on my cell (201-921-8118) with any questions." - Schab returns to front desk at approximately 7:30 am to only learn Jacob is not working, and is advised to come back tomorrow when he is working; Schab then checks out of the Embassy Suites and moves to the Ambassador Hotel for remaining 2 nights. October 28, 2017 - Schab returns to the Embassy Suites hotel about 9:00 am to speak with Jacob to only learn that Jacob is unaware of the situation and/or Schab’s emails with pictures and videos. As Schab explains the course of events, Jacob reads Schab’s emails, apologizes, and says he will file a claim. October 30, 2017 - Jacob emails Schab and says he has received the name of the insurance contact (below) assigned to the case and Schab should stand by. Joanna Birrell (claims account executive) Phone: 404-847-1643 jbirrell@mcgriff.com November 3, 2017 - Schab does not hear from Joanna so he emails her to only learn the case has been reported to Zurich and an adjuster has been assigned (see below). Jean Marquez Claim # 9720139722 Phone 214-866-1568 jean.marquez@zurichna.com -Schab proactively reaches out to Jean via email and provides a summary and copy of all receipts related to damages. November 6, 2017 - Schab receives the following email from Jean at Zurich; email reads "Dear Mr Schab: We are the General Liability insurance carrier for Embassy Suites and the above report has been forwarded to us. Our role is to investigate and pay claims for damages in which our insured’s are found liable. We have determined that an independent pest vendor conducted a thorough inspection of the room and did not find evidence of bed bug activity. There is no history of bed bug or pest issues in this room. There have been no similar complaints from other guest staying in the proximity of this particular room or at the hotel in general during the time frame of your stay. The hotel has regular pest servicing to properly maintain the location and to proactively address potential issues.Based on this information, we do not find that the hotel breached a duty which would indicate liability on their part. We wanted to share this information with you." - Schab responds to Jean via email and attaches 3 pictures and videos; email reads "Jean: With all due respect, I firmly disagree with your assessment and will be engaging my attorney to discuss next steps.I'm not sure how you can view the attached photos and video, which are just a few select articles of my evidence, and draw any other conclusion as to the liability of Embassy Suites. What I can assure you (at minimum) is that the power of social media and the court of public opinion will side with me, and I am fully committed to ensuring others know about my ordeal so as not to have the same experience at the Embassy Suites in Tulsa."

We had been in the hotel 1 night and returned to the from breakfast at 9:00 am on 2/18/17 to find a bug on a pillow. We initially thought it was a tick and turned over the pillow and saw 4 more bugs. They were large and there were some small ones too. I immediately called the front desk for help and moved the children out to stand on the balcony. They maintenance guy came and verified they are Bed Bugs and started to disassemble the room to find where they were coming from. He was kind and tried to do all he could to help. All clothes, shoes bags, everything fabric in the room had to be run through the hotel laundry. We moved to another room with only our hard things and wearing hotel robes. After they delivered our masses of laundry, we never heard from anyone at the hotel to apologize or acknowledge anything. I asked to have a Manager call me, and have heard nothing. No refund, nothing.

8/11/2017 we checked into the hotel a little after 3pm. We went to our room where I immediately began checking the bed as I always do when we stay at a hotel. I never found any live bugs, but I saw TONS of eggs on the mattress and on the bed-skirt under it. We went to desk to check out. The guy didn't seem surprised at all. He said he'd call their professionals out to take a look and told me that they hadn't had any issues with bed bugs. He told me that he couldn't give me a refund since I went through Expedia (I actually went through Hotels.com). I went through their online thing to say that I didn't stay there and why. I am still waiting to hear back from them for a refund.

4/4/19 I found one crawling on the pillow while my significant other was sleeping. I took pictures and it was an adult female filled with blood. No telling whether we've tracked eggs into our house or anything. The manager was also one of the most unprofessional, unhelpful, uneducated individual I have ever spoken with. She tried to say that bed bugs only lay eggs in the bed (which is not true) and she lied multiple times about trying to contact us. We had to throw away our luggage, wash all of our clothes, etc. But we don't know if they got tracked into the car. Just avoid the whole situation and stay elsewhere.

On April 4th I checked in for a 2 night stay as I have at least once every 2 months if not more frequent for work. I Was assigned room 710. I turned in around 11:30pm and was awaken within an hour later due to itching. I woke up looked around the room pulled the cover back and didn’t see anything. About 30 minutes later I was awaken with more itching in different places. I got up and I turned on the lights and saw a bed bug running across the sheets. I pulled out my phone to take a photo, and then decided to record it. I called down to the service desk immediately and G brought me a key to a different room immediately. I was unable to sleep both nights. 4/4 I was repacking and relocating rooms, and only had about an hour or two of sleep total. On 4/5 I noticed large bumps on my upper left thigh, lower left leg, upper right & left shoulder blade, upper left & right buttocks, behind my left ear, on the left side of my neck, near my left elbow, my right waist area, and lower back. I did not sleep at all due to the constant feeling of something crawling on me. I went to the service desk and asked for rubbing alcohol or some type of antiseptic. G was on shift again and looked for some in their first aid kit but they didn’t have any. I asked for a formal written complaint letter to fill out to ensure management is notified. G states all she has was an incident form. I completed it, she made me a copy and told me she’d leave for the general manager who would be starting today 4/6. As the previous GM last day was 4/5.
