We checked in on May 31st (room 203) due to needing temporary housing while awaiting home closure (we bought a home). We expected to stay approximately 3 weeks in this motel. I experienced about 5 red bite marks on my legs that I noticed the week of 6/10-6/14. I noticed some black particulate material (similar to flea droppings) on the bed sheets. We had been looking for bed bugs since first arriving but didn't see any. However, on June 15th (a Saturday), my husband found one on his bath towel as he prepared to go to work early in the morning. It was a live and he saved it in a small cup. At this point we alerted the hotel, who didn't offer us any apologies or discounts. They said the manager wasn't available until 6/16/19. They wanted to remove the bedding and spray the room with pesticide. That's it. They offered us another room, but at this point - we're already exposed (and all of our stuff! A lot of stuff for a 3 week stay). We didn't want to infest another room or hotel. During the cleaning process, we overheard that the room beneath ours had also been infested recently. On 6/16 we spoke with the manager and he didn't apologize and declined to remove our room charges as we requested. They said it was suspicious that we had stayed here 2 weeks and only now found a bed bug and were requesting removal of fees. Like we planned it! We are so mad. All of our stuff is now potentially infested and we don't want to bring it anywhere with us (to another motel or to our new home or to our work places). We didn't even see any evidence of them bringing a professional pest control service in.
