Our school's robotics team stayed in several rooms last night, April 2, 2026 at the Comfort Inn in Vincennes, IN ahead of the beginning of our 2 day competition which started today. When my husband and I checked into our room 208 on the second floor this evening, April 3, 2026, I inspected the room for bed bugs upon entering, which I always do. I found several spots on the box spring in our room so we immediately left the room and began checking kids rooms. All of the kids rooms on the same floor had evidence of bed bugs as well and one kid had bites on his chest and back. When I went back to the check in counter, the lady working didn't know what to do and couldn't get hold of the owner or manager. She couldn't offer new rooms, guidance on what to do, and only offered trash bags for the kids to seal all their belongings after I asked for them. I'm going to reach out to the manager via email in the morning and the local health department. We have several pictures from multiple rooms. Multiple families from our school will be impacted by this and several other schools are staying in the same hotel both nights.
