On June 20, 2010, I checked into the hotel in the late afternoon, and fell asleep on one of the beds with my 3-year old son. I woke up at about midnight, moved to the next bed and began watching tv. Out of the corner of my eye, I noticed something moving on the pillow I was leaning on... I was horrified... it was a bed bug (I had done research on them previously and knew what they looked like). I killed it with tissue and flushed it down the toilet. I then ripped the sheets off my sleeping son and found two tiny bedbugs crawling on him. I called my parents who were on there way to the hotel to alert them. They arrived, and upon their review, we found another bug in the bed with my son, and one crawling on the wall. We called the front desk who immediately came to the room, and asked to see the bugs, which we saved for them. My parents went to look at another room and saw something on the wall. We immediately left (the hotel did not charge us) and went to another hotel. NOTE: It was 1:30 am! A few weeks later, we received a letter from the hotel letting us know that they took this very seriously and had an exterminator come in but neither of them could find any evidence of bed bugs. Glad they take it seriously but if they couldn't find any evidence, I suggest they spend a night in the room!
