I have been fighting bed bugs for over 3 months now without significant help from my Landlord. The place has been "bombed" three times, with the fumigating bombs purchased at Walmart. Obviously not going to make a difference - I did the research at the very first SIGHTING (yes - I have seen them - many of them) & let my Landlord know what the professionals reccomend (tenting & heat). The last time my Landlord's staff (not a professional exterminator)managed to set the bombs off with the windows left open. Each time I return to more LIVING bedbugs. This past week I was informed that my lease will not be renewed due to pending renovations. Hopefully in order to fix the infestation properly, though I doubt that at this point. I have been unable to live in my apartment for at least a month altogether - do I have any legal recourse? I have also tried to manage the infestation myself - diatomaceous earth particularly and am waiting to find out if this had ANY effect. I now am being forced to move & want to make certain I do not take them with me to further spread around an already overrun city - suggestions?

I stayed at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside for the AORN Congress meeting. March 26th, 27th and 28th in room 804. I woke up with a few small bites that have now esculated into huge welts all over my arma and legs. I have now infested my house because hotel did not advise of any reports.

This place is infested! Several complaints on other sites as well. Staff will act like they don't know, but you can also find evidence of pest control powder on the carpets along the edges of the room. Bites definitely made the rest of the trip uncomfortable, still have bites 1 week later, very itchy.

Stayed at this Hotel 10/20 through 10/24. We were initially checked into room 505 and we found 3 live bedbugs crawling on boxsprings for one of the beds. We reported this to the front desk and asked to be moved to another room. The hotel was extremely full but they were able to put us in a new room and they were very apologetic and gracious. We did not find any live bugs in the new room but we did come across two dead bugs in the sheets throughout our stay - could be from laundering, mixing in in the laundry, who knows. Needless to say, it was an uncomforable/uneasy stay.

I was a recent guest (July 1 - July 3rd, 2011) and have been bitten by bed bugs. Two of my friends were also bitten; however, my bites were much more severe as they developed into painful blisters on my back, thigh, arm and hands. I was experiencing such discomfort, I made a trip to the Tulane University Emergency room where I was prescribed antibiotics. This experience completely ruined my holiday vacation.

After check in, i changed and hit the gym. When i came back and had a shower, i noticed a bug on the pillow, pulled back the sheets and inspected the mattress to find more bedbugs. House Keeping and guest relations came to my room and moved me to a different room, having confirmed that they were bedbugs.

After arriving late, checking in and going to straight to sleep, I woke early for a full day of meetings. I found that i had itchy bites on my legs and arms, when I returned to the hotel. i undressed to go to the gym and found that the bites were red and puffy, swollen and very itchy sore. I suspected bed bugs and stripped the bed. I did not find any evidence, but called the hotel staff. I was moved to a different room, but and was later informed that no bed bugs were found the next day by the PCO. I suspect that the hotel ensured that they were all removed prior to the pest control company arriving. 4 weeks later i returned to this hotel and was placed in the same room. Needless to say I did not stay.

On a recent family trip to New Orleans we were eaten up by bed bugs and sustained bites to the hands, arms, neck, back, and ankles. I reported this to the management and the front desk where the clerk admitted that the hotel did have a bed bug problem. Do not stay at this hotel!!! They have been reported to travelocity, hotels.com, and the bed bug registry for numerous bed bug problems!!!
